Hm! - I don't object to the essay itself as an essay as much as you do, as it seemed to me like it isn't necessarily ragging on all queer tragedy (although that sensitivity reader of theirs kind of was!) but rather that they didn't have to write it... but you have an excellent point about the attempt to have their cake and eat it too, given the events of Upright.
